The opening of the first citizen service center was a real bureaucratic revolution for Cyprus. All documents could be submitted and received in one place without wasting time visiting several ministries and departments.

The purpose of these centers is to optimize the work of public services. Like one-stop-shop services, citizen service centers allow quick and hassle-free access to necessary information, filing an application, and obtaining or updating a particular document.

What documents can be obtained from citizen’s service centers:

  • Identification cards
  • Tax certificates of payment
  • Records of contributions to the social security fund
  • European medical cards
  • Birth certificates
  • Driving licenses
  • etc.

Which applications can be submitted at the citizens’ service centers?

  • For a refugee identification card;
  • To be added to the electoral list;
  • For student grants;
  • For payment of child benefits, maternity benefits, and maternity allowances;
  • For the payment of pensions,
  • To transfer ownership, immobilize, or remove a vehicle from circulation;
  • To issue a passport (for Cypriot citizens);

In addition to the above, the Citizen Service Centers provide services that used to be available only in state agencies, bringing together more than 70 different functions useful to the population. All services are divided into two large groups: those that are provided on the spot (issuance of birth certificates, medical cards, etc.) and those for which applications are received at the centers and subsequently forwarded to the relevant agency (this concerns the issuance of identification cards, passports, driving licenses, provision of benefits). More information on the services provided by the centers is available by calling 1434.

Citizen Service Center – Single Hot Line
